Well im officially standing out lol
I haven’t seen another non Asian person in a long time & people stare very deeply at me with curiosity - some with fear when they see my tattoos lol i just smile and move along on my way
I arrived to a much more remote part of Japan, the very southern tip called Kagoshima.
Upon arriving at my bnb i was greeted by a child - couldn’t be more than 7 years old. She had brightly colored lipstick smeared across her lips and sweetly showed me to my room in what appeared to be her home. The situation was a bit weird but it was just for a night to await the ferry to Okinawa the next day. I did my best to rest up as I had a full day of travel ahead. I was experiencing lots of reflections regarding what brought me here, what it means to be in alignment and further how to continue offering myself as a beacon of love.
During this i also had to visit a Japanese clinic as the p- oak was spreading and weeping and overall making me very uncomfy. Got some meds to help clear it up & deeply perplexed the Japanese doctors as p-oak is not present here.
I was stoked to have a potential fix before boarding the 24 hr ferry to Okinawa.
As i was waiting for the ferry an entire Japanese youth baseball team saw me and were deeply perplexed. They were sweetly giggling while practicing their English with me. Laughing asking me all sorts of questions : my favorite being who is your hero?? Declared by the clear leader of the boys. Another sweetly learned my name and i his. They asked me to abandon my plans and come to another island to watch their game via google translate. So sweet. We shared many giggles and it rapidly sped up the waiting time.
After i met an older Japanese couple and 2 of their employees. As a woman it’s customary to share snacks with people you meet, they typically carry snack packs to offer. I learned this from the women in my tour group on Mt. Fuji who graciously gave me a wild amount of snacks. So i came prepared and offered the couple snacks after chatting for a bit. Soon after they “adopted me” and asked if I would join them for meals aboard the ship.
I ended up spending most of my time on the ship with them, they bought me dinner and breakfast 🥹, invited me to their home, and told me they were my Japanese mama and papa. I practiced my Japanese and got to know all about them. It was a deeply cherished experience.
I booked a bunk on the ship to rest easy as the other options was tatami mats on the floor with about 30 other people.
I ended up having the whole bunk room to myself - I have been deeply enjoying writing - the ocean feels deeply inspirational and clearing.
I was very excited to get to Okinawa (oki).
As i write this my body is still swaying from the ship.
I will stay at hostel before going to stay on the very spiritual side of island 🏝️.
I get to stay in a sweet villa with an outdoor tub & private pool. I am so very excited to explore this sacred place I was called to.
My last blog brought many sweet reflections & that has me reflecting deeply on how important community is.
I feel so blessed to have so many beautiful souls to share this blog with. Thanks for being here.
Wishing you expansive love, peace & joy today.
Tata for now,
